What CBD might be doing to your nutritional practice

Uncategorized Feb 24, 2019

...And a happy Sunday to you.

So I was thinking. As I have been working with other practitioners to help them implement natural medicine into their practices for over a decade now, one of the most common rejections I first hear from a practitioner who is "green" to practitioner grade supplements is, "my customers won't pay that."

Time and time again, and time and time again, they realize, its not about ability to pay, its about willingness, and if you have a client base that see's such value, I caution not to pass your beliefs or judgement's on them. .

Over the last few months as I have been getting my feat wet in the CBD market, from going over the research, asking questions, answering questions, sometimes recommending it, and writing retorts to the local medical community when they question the 'evidence-based' affect...I have realized one huge thing that must not be overlooked!

There is literally no price resistance to CBD, and people are coming to the table with questions on...

The Thin Line Between Alone and Being Social

Sunday Reset with Rob… It’s Cool to be Alone, In fact its Needed

I didn’t know what to write for you this week, in fact, I didn’t really start thinking about it until about 9:10 AM today (1/27/19) as I have had a super busy week- although completely gratifying.

I have been putting together a project I am super excited about- based on lifestyle/functional medicine, and one of the key factors to one’s health and well-being is community, being social.

Although…for many, this could be a double-edged sword, because as detrimental a life of no connection can be, individual alone time is greatly needed for ones health, wellness, and outright creativity.

This quote came across my desk…

“I secretly enjoy being alone - hiking alone, skiing alone, walking along the beach alone, going to movies alone. Do not get me wrong, I like sharing my life with other people, but sometimes I really enjoy being as alone as possible.”

Senators urge FDA to secure pathway for CBD

As you know, the Farm Bill just recently passed, which is one of the most profound changes to the industry. As far as CBD is concerned, it legalized industrial hemp, including the plants used to produce CBD oil.

Then...there's the grey area. Where states have given the green light, in the world of the Fed's anything is possible. And where most wound say it's highly unlikely that the Feds would declare it illegal for supplements and foods...remember, Big Pharma lurks, and is no doubt salivating to control this sacred crop.

Fortunately, there is a movement to keep the securing an open pathway...

The two U.S. senators from Oregon who worked with Sen. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky) to pass the Hemp Farming Act have asked FDA to update regulations to allow for the use of hemp products, namely cannabidiol (CBD), in food, beverage and dietary supplement products.

In a letter to FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb, M.D., Sens. Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley said farmers in...

The Commoditization of Hemp and CBD

So, as I was doing my Sunday Sprints today, I was ruminating on what to write to you.

As you know, the Sunday reset is a time of thought, pondering, random travels of mind and emotions.

I wanted to take a bit of a different course from the last few weeks, and get a bit back into our industry… well, let’s talk about Hemp.

The Farm Bill just passed, which is one of the most profound changes to the industry. As far as CBD is concerned, it legalized industrial hemp, including the plants used to produce CBD oil.

Honestly, its about time as we have been exporting this industry out of our country for way too long. I was first introduced to the wide array of benefits of Hemp, in 1994 when I read Jack Herrer’s Emperor Wears no Clothes.

Since then, hemp has been an industrial staple in my home; hemp clothes, hemp dog leashes and collars, I even have a couch made out of a hemp blend…most durable couch I have ever owned.

There’s still a gray area on how the Feds...

“I took off for a weekend last month just to try and recall the whole year…”

Uncategorized Dec 28, 2018

That’s a line from Jimmy Buffet’s Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes…and I sit here writing it on his birthday, Christmas.

“All of the places and all of the faces, wondering where they all disappeared”

To share another quote with you, to frame where I am going with this…

“Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”- Ferris Bueller

As I enjoy the peace and quiet and joy that this day can bring, I am preparing for my own little sojourn tomorrow, time to look around, a glance in the rear-view mirror, with some co-creating nudging that lies ahead- heading out from Michigan for a coastal trip from Southern to Northern California.

It’s been one of those years- filled with the unexpected, the mystery, the challenges, illuminated possibilities, the highs, and the low’s, and everything in between.

Staring down the barrel of 2019- I can pretty much guarantee I’m...

Ready to Leap?

Uncategorized Dec 23, 2018

They say “take the leap and the net will appear”- this has been proven many times in my life.

I can’t help to think practical thought, logistical planning, and accurate steps would add an insurance policy against failure…then I ask, would I ever leap?

I believe its in how we navigate, a balance if you will, a balance that we do not get caught up in the minutia of fears and fabricated stories that prevent us from launching, and buffering what we can looking forward…knowing what we know, which we have to come to terms with the fact that in the overall schemes of things, we know very little, and that’s OK!

There’s something about the spontaneity, the “ahh fu#% it” moment, the throw it all to the wind that begins the ripples of manifestation…even though we cannot see how it will play out…the story gets written.

As a child, I stood at the end of the high dive…the goal was to jump, the challenge was the mind.

Transforming Health Care

That's a pretty heavy title, right?

Curious on your you feel its possible, do you think health care needs to be transformed?

And I'm not talking about how expensive it is, whose going to pay for it, and all of that stuff...I'm talking about how people are not living longer and living better for the most part- people continually become enslaved by 'modern day diseases' that were not even an issue 10, 50, or even nearly as big of a deal, 25 years ago.

People are lining up like cattle to accept a 'standard of care' model that is not for the individual, but more of a numbers game, playing the cards as they have fallen.

I just got done reading (actually listening to) Visionary Business, by Marc Allen. I read it at the same time as a colleague and fellow compatriot in the desire to transform what we know as health care.

After looking back on the book, one of the foundational elements to bestow to your practice, to your business was summed up in the epilogue, which I believe...

When you market, search for common ground

Uncategorized Feb 12, 2018

Marketing your business, your practice, or even building your personal brand is like telling a story.

Stories, aka, Hollywood style, have shared consistent themes over the years...and this can also be likened to strong emotionally connected topics of the day.

This is meeting people where they are their minds, beliefs, and emotions.

People bond over common ground, or they fight over uncommon ground (aka us vs them)

What comes to mind here is...yes, once again, the Eagles Superbowl win...and what this did for the city.

You probably saw on the news the after the Superbowl partying by people in Philly...with the media focusing on the negative...

What the media did not show....was the...
