Sunday Sessions with Rob: Finding Grit on the Uphill
Jun 23, 2025
Let me take you back to a myth that’s been rattling around for thousands of years.
Sisyphus was a king who got on the wrong side of the gods. His punishment? He was doomed to push a boulder up a mountain forever. Every time he’d get close to the top, the rock would slip away and tumble back down, and he’d have to start from scratch. Most folks see it as pure tragedy—a man stuck in a loop of failure.
But sometimes, I wonder if there’s something more there—something real for those of us with skin in the game.
I’ve had my share of boulder moments. Building a business? Absolutely. There were times I was sure I’d never get my practice off the ground. Relationships? You bet—some of the hardest pushes happen outside the office. Money? I lost sleep counting bills, especially when every dollar mattered just to keep the lights on.
And then yesterday, the lesson landed—hard. I was mowing an acre of rough, hilly ground. The ride-on mower quit on the steep parts, so it was just me and the push mower in brutal heat. Over 12,000 steps. I stopped, cooled myself off at the hose, and honestly considered leaving the last bit for tomorrow. But as I stood there, breathing hard, Sisyphus came to mind. Was this just another pointless grind? Or was there a lesson in pushing through, even when every part of me wanted to quit?
Here’s why I’m sharing this: Sunday Sessions is meant to be a powerful, behind-the-scenes resource for you. I want to show you how lessons from mythology and medicine—brought together—can open up new possibilities in your personal growth, your practice, and your business. These aren’t just stories—they’re frameworks for resilience, clarity, and forward momentum. They’re the foundation of my Implement, Elevate and Ascend program, where we use self-assessments and strategy protocols not just for our patients, but for ourselves as business builders.
If you’re in one of those moments right now—business, relationships, finances, or just mowing your own metaphorical yard—know this: the struggle is real, but so is the summit. And sometimes, the biggest victory is just not quitting.
If you want a deeper dive, tomorrow is the last day to lock in the early bird pricing for Implement, Elevate and Ascend. Don’t wait if you’re ready for more personalized, behind-the-scenes support—this is your chance.
Drop me a comment or shoot me a note if you want to share your story, or if you’re curious how these lessons might help you find your footing again.
Until next Sunday, keep pushing. I’m right there with you.
