SOMETHING IS HAPPENING TO MEN IN MIDLIFE RIGHT NOW.
Many have worked hard.
They have shown up.
They have carried responsibility, built careers, supported families, endured pressure, and done what needed to be done.
But somewhere in the middle of life, a different question begins to rise:
Is this still the path?
Do I need to adjust?
What wants to come through me now?
For many men, this season does not arrive as a crisis.
It arrives as a quiet ache.
A restlessness.
A sense that the old strategies no longer create the same clarity, power, or meaning they once did.
Many men are:
overstimulated
over-responsible
disconnected from nature
emotionally reactive
mentally exhausted
constantly “on”
carrying pressure without space to process it
Most men do not lack information.
They lack:
silence
spaciousness
connection
nervous system regulation
appropriate challenge
room to actually hear themselves again
The modern world has created endless stimulation…
but very little recalibration.
The Mythic Man Midlife Reset was built as a response to that.
Not as escape.
But as return.
A return to nature.
A return to the body.
A return to silence.
A return to honest reflection.
A return to the deeper masculine self that still knows the way forward.
Because sometimes the next chapter is not found by pushing harder.
Sometimes it is found in the quiet.
In the canyon.
On the trail.
In the fire.
In the challenge.
In the space where a man can finally hear what life has been trying to say.
Â
NATURE IS MEDICINE
There is growing evidence that repeated exposure to nature positively affects:
- mental health
- emotional regulation
- nervous system balance
- stress physiology
- cognitive function
- mood
- resilience
- overall well-being
Nature removes noise.
Silence reveals what distraction suppresses.
This experience is rooted in the belief that nature is not merely backdrop.
It becomes part of the process itself.
The canyon.
The terrain.
The stillness.
The scale.
The challenge.
The exposure.
The quiet.
These environments naturally change human physiology and awareness.
ADVENTURE AS MEDICINE
Adventure has almost completely disappeared from modern life.
Many men now live in environments that are:
- predictable
- climate-controlled
- overstimulating
- sedentary
- digitally saturated
- disconnected from challenge, terrain, uncertainty, and nature
But challenge is not the enemy of men.
Meaningless stress is.
There is a difference between:
- chronic pressure
and - healthy challenge
The human nervous system was never designed only for screens, schedules, traffic, notifications, and artificial environments.
Men need:
- movement
- terrain
- exploration
- exposure
- uncertainty
- challenge
- adventure
- meaningful effort
Not as punishment.
But as part of being fully alive.
Nature naturally reintroduces many of these elements.
A trail asks for presence.
A canyon asks for awareness.
Elevation asks for effort.
Cold water asks for adaptation.
Silence asks for honesty.
This is part of why adventure and nature have such profound effects on:
- mood
- resilience
- nervous system regulation
- confidence
- emotional processing
- stress physiology
- overall well-being
ARRIVE. RETURN. REALIGN.
The Mythic Man Field Return is a 3-night immersive field experience based out of a private property in the Zion / Kolob Canyon area surrounded by canyon walls, desert landscape, open space, and nature in every direction.
One base.
No logistical friction.
Deep immersion.
This is not a traditional men’s retreat.
And it’s not performative masculinity, hype culture, or forced vulnerability.
This is a guided return rooted in:
- nature immersion
- nervous system recalibration
- challenge
- movement
- silence
- connection
- direction
- integration
Designed for men who lead, build, carry responsibility, and create impact — but know something deeper is asking for attention.
THE PATH OF EXPANSION
Over the course of the experience, men move through a guided arc:
SEE CLEARLY
Awareness + orientation
FEEL DEEPLY
Emotional reconnection + descent
LEAD YOURSELF
Responsibility + direction
MEET THE EDGE
Challenge + trust
RETURN HOME
Integration + realignment
This is not about becoming someone else.
It’s about reconnecting with who you already are beneath the pressure, performance, reactivity, and noise.
RESERVE YOUR SPOT NOWBEFORE YOU ARRIVE
1:1 MYTHIC MAN ASSESSMENT (Included)
Before the experience begins, each participant will meet with Rob Kress on Zoom for a personalized Orientation-Based Medicine assessment.
Together, we’ll explore:
- current life orientation
- nervous system patterns
- reactivity tendencies
- capacity
- direction
- current season of life
- where you are on the Path of Expansion
YOUR PERSONALIZED MYTHIC MAN FIELD GUIDE
Following the assessment, each participant receives a personalized Mythic Man Field Guide.
This becomes your personal guide for the return.
Your Field Guide may include:
- current patterns
- strengths
- challenges
- reactivity themes
- leadership edge
- reflection prompts
- integration direction
- personal focus areas for the week
This is not a generic retreat experience.
The goal is for the return to become your own experience.
CONNECTION, SPACE, ADVENTURE AND SILENCE
One of the deepest intentions behind this experience is creating enough space for men to reconnect.
Connection to:
- self
- others
- nature
- direction
- life
Most men rarely experience true spaciousness anymore.
Constant stimulation, urgency, pressure, and performance slowly disconnect men from themselves.
This experience intentionally creates:
- silence
- solitude
- reflection
- spaciousness
- nervous system decompression
Not as avoidance.
But as recalibration.
MOVNAT + EMBODIMENT
Rob is trained in MovNat (natural movement), which will be integrated throughout the experience.
This is not about workouts or performance.
It’s about:
- embodiment
- awareness
- terrain adaptation
- grounded strength
- physical confidence
- reconnecting movement to nature
Movement becomes part of the integration process itself.
OPTIONAL EARLY ARRIVAL — THE LANDING DAY
For men who want additional time to settle in, acclimate, explore Zion, and arrive more intentionally, there will be an optional additional arrival day before the official experience begins.
This day is designed to remove the rushed feeling of travel and create space for:
- grounding
- casual connection
- light exploration
- coffee and conversation
- easing into the environment
- nervous system decompression before the field return officially begins
Potential experiences may include:
- Springdale exploration
- Watchman Trail
- Camp Outpost burgers/tacos
- sunset integration
- optional movement sessions
- relaxed group connection
No pressure.
No “work.”
Just arrival.
CHALLENGE WITHOUT PERFORMANCE
Every man meets the edge that is right for him.
Some men may choose:
- full challenge hikes
- extended routes
- deeper physical experiences
- solo nature integration
- slower movement
- reflection time
- recovery and spaciousness
Optional challenge routes may include:
- more elevation
- earlier starts
- silence portions
- greater physical demand
- longer immersion periods
Not to prove anything.
But to remember what they are capable of.
This is not about performative toughness.
It’s about reconnecting with yourself.

TRANSPORTATION + ARRIVAL OPTIONS
Closest Airports
Most men will likely fly into:
- Las Vegas (LAS)
- Salt Lake City (SLC)
- St. George Regional Airport (SGU)
Zion is approximately:
- ~2.5–3 hours from Las Vegas
- ~4.5–5 hours from Salt Lake City
For most participants, Las Vegas tends to be the simplest and most cost-effective airport option.
TRUE NORTH + LOCATION
The True North property is intentionally positioned away from the heavier tourist traffic while still giving access to Zion and Springdale.
The Kolob Canyon region sits roughly:
- ~40 miles from the main Zion/Springdale entrance
- approximately ~45 minutes depending on route and conditions
This creates something we intentionally wanted for the experience:
More:
- quiet
- spaciousness
- immersion
- nervous system decompression
- connection to nature
Less:
- crowds
- overstimulation
- tourist energy
At the same time, participants still have the flexibility to:
- drive into Springdale
- explore Zion
- grab coffee or meals
- spend solo integration time
- or adventure on their own if desired
For men wanting maximum flexibility and freedom during the experience, renting your own vehicle is absolutely an option.
There is plenty of room and space at the property for vehicles.
SPRINTER VAN + GROUP TRANSPORTATION
To make transportation easier and reduce stress for participants flying in, Rob will likely be renting a Sprinter van for the experience.
This van may be used for:
- airport coordination from Las Vegas on October 28
- transportation into Zion/Springdale
- group hikes and excursions
- local movement throughout the experience
Depending on arrival timing and group coordination, men flying into Las Vegas on the optional Landing Day may be able to ride in together with Rob and other participants.
The goal is to make arrival feel:
- smooth
- connected
- relaxed
- intentional
rather than rushed and fragmented.
LAS VEGAS → ZION SHUTTLE OPTIONS
There are also regular shuttle services that travel from Las Vegas into the Zion / Springdale area.
Typical pricing currently appears to range around:
~$95–115 one-way
depending on:
- season
- pickup/drop-off locations
- provider
- timing
Examples include:
- National Park Express
- St. George Shuttle
- regional Zion transportation providers
These shuttle services regularly move travelers between:
- Las Vegas
- St. George
- Hurricane
- Springdale / Zion area
OUR RECOMMENDATION
If possible:
- coordinate arrival timing with the group
- fly into Las Vegas
- use coordinated rides or shuttle options
- arrive October 28 if you want the smoothest and most relaxed arrival experience
The optional Landing Day was intentionally designed to remove the rushed feeling of travel and allow men to settle into the environment before the formal experience begins.
AFTER THE RETURN
30-DAY INTEGRATION PHASE (Included)

RESERVE YOUR SPOTABOUT ROB KRESS
Built Through Medicine, Nature, and Real-World Experience
The Mythic Man Field Return was not created from theory.
It was built from years of clinical work, personal challenge, nervous system study, nature immersion, movement practice, and recognizing something deeper happening in modern men.
— Rob Kress
I’m Rob Kress — a licensed pharmacist, functional medicine educator, and creator of Orientation-Based Medicine (OBM), a framework designed to help people better understand physiology, nervous system capacity, behavior, stress adaptation, and human performance through the lens of the whole person.
Over the years, I became known as a leader in functional pharmacy and integrative medicine, helping practitioners and patients move beyond symptom management and protocol overload into something more individualized, sustainable, and deeply human.
But outside of medicine, I also began noticing something else:
Many men today are exhausted.
Disconnected.
Overstimulated.
Reactive.
Successful externally, yet internally disconnected from themselves, nature, challenge, and meaning.
And increasingly, I realized that information alone does not change men.
Environment does.
Challenge does.
Nature does.
Movement does.
Silence does.
Connection does.
That realization became part of what ultimately led to the creation of the Mythic Man Field Return.
In addition to my background in functional medicine and nervous system work, I am also trained in:
- MovNat (natural movement)
- nervous system-oriented coaching
- wilderness and emergency field medicine
- human performance and adaptive physiology
The Field Return combines these worlds together:
- physiology
- nature immersion
- movement
- challenge
- nervous system recalibration
- archetypal development
- integration
- adventure
- and meaningful human connection
This is not about performative masculinity.
And it is not about escaping life.
It is about helping men reconnect with:
- themselves
- their bodies
- nature
- direction
- challenge
- and the healthy edge where growth occurs
My approach is rooted in the belief that nature itself is medicine.
That movement changes awareness.
That challenge reveals capacity.
And that many men do not need more noise —
they need space to hear themselves again.
The Mythic Man Field Return was built to create exactly that.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is this a traditional men’s retreat?
No.
The Mythic Man Field Return is not built around performative masculinity, forced vulnerability, “alpha” culture, or highly structured group processing.
This is a guided field experience rooted in:
-
nature
-
challenge
-
movement
-
nervous system recalibration
-
silence
-
reflection
-
connection
-
and integration
The intention is not to escape life —
but to return to it differently.
Do I need to be highly fit or experienced outdoors?
Not at all.
This experience is intentionally designed to meet men where they currently are — physically, emotionally, and mentally.
There will be:
-
multiple hike options
-
different levels of challenge
-
spaciousness for recovery and reflection
-
adaptable movement experiences
-
optional advanced adventures
Some men may choose:
-
scenic hikes
-
slower pacing
-
canyon walks
-
nature immersion
-
reflection time
Others may choose:
-
more demanding hikes
-
steeper elevation
-
Angel’s Landing
-
rappelling
-
longer routes
-
more physical challenge
Both are respected.
What if I’ve never done anything like this before?
That is completely okay.
Many men attending may be new to:
-
retreats
-
nervous system work
-
emotional development
-
wilderness experiences
-
or intentional men’s work
The Field Return is intentionally designed to feel:
-
approachable
-
grounded
-
psychologically safe
-
spacious
-
supportive without pressure
There is no expectation to “perform” emotionally or physically.
What is Orientation-Based Medicine (OBM)?
OBM is a framework developed by Rob Kress that looks at:
-
nervous system patterns
-
capacity
-
stress adaptation
-
physiology
-
behavior
-
orientation
-
and human performance through the lens of the whole person
Rather than simply asking:
“What protocol does someone need?”
OBM asks:
“What state are they in?”
“What is their current capacity?”
“What direction are they moving?”
This framework influences how the Field Return is structured and personalized for each participant.
What is the Mythic Man Field Guide?
Before the experience, each man will complete a personalized 1:1 assessment call with Rob.
Following that assessment, participants receive a customized Mythic Man Field Guide designed specifically for their experience.
This may include:
-
nervous system patterns
-
strengths
-
current challenges
-
reflection prompts
-
growth edges
-
reactivity patterns
-
leadership themes
-
integration guidance
This helps make the return a more individualized experience rather than a generic retreat.
What does a typical day look like?
Days are intentionally structured with both:
-
challenge
-
and spaciousness
Depending on the day, experiences may include:
-
hikes
-
MovNat movement
-
nature immersion
-
guided reflections
-
solo integration time
-
fireside conversations
-
optional advanced adventures
-
meals in Springdale or at the property
-
nervous system and physiology teachings
There is also intentional free space built into the experience.
Is this all group activities?
No.
While there are shared experiences and group connection points, there is also intentional space for:
-
solitude
-
silence
-
reflection
-
decompression
-
solo exploration
-
nervous system recovery
The goal is not constant stimulation or nonstop scheduling.
Will there be emotional processing or sharing circles?
There may be opportunities for meaningful conversation and reflection, but this is not structured as a highly confrontational or forced emotional experience.
Men are never pressured into:
-
public vulnerability
-
oversharing
-
emotional performance
-
or performative exercises
The environment itself often creates the opening for authentic reflection naturally.
What if I have health concerns or physical limitations?
This experience is intentionally adaptable.
Participants are encouraged to work within their current level of capacity.
Optional functional medicine support and guidance may also be available for men navigating:
-
fatigue
-
chronic stress
-
burnout
-
inflammation
-
hormonal concerns
-
or other health-related issues
If you have questions about your situation specifically, you’re encouraged to reach out before enrolling.
What airport should I fly into?
Most participants will likely fly into:
-
Las Vegas (LAS)

or St. George Regional Airport (SGU)
Las Vegas is typically the easiest and most affordable option.
Zion is approximately:
-
2.5–3 hours from Las Vegas
